Write out the details of what a character wants in this week’s creative writing exercise
Decide who you’re going to create the wishlist for. Is it a new character, or one that you’re already writing about?
Write a wish list for them of things that they want.
As the purpose of this exercise is to expand what you know about your character, nothing is off limits. What do they wish for? Long for? Dream of achieving? Nothing is too small, either - a lot of the way a character comes across to a reader is via small, precise details. If your character wants a ring doughnut, a pack of clean tea towels or a particular kind of rivet, note it down!
Write your list and then go through it and see how you can use what you’ve put down when you’re writing about that particular character in your story.
