The contest for intergenerational stories, from HarperFiction and Gransnet, is tied to the recent publication of Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal

The winner will receive £500 in book vouchers and an editorial mentoring session with Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows commissioning editor Martha Ashby. The winning story will be published at the back of the ebook of Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows. Two runners up will receive a selection of HarperCollins titles and feedback from the judges: Balli, Martha, Balli's agent Anna Power and Gransnet editor Cari Rosen.

Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows will be a Gransnet book club choice this autumn.

To enter, send original, unpublished short stories up to 1,500 words about mothers and daughters, or other intergenerational relationships between women.

Entry is free. The closing date is 14 May.
