The competition is for writers with medical experience who are interested in writing for Casualty
The celebrate the long-running BBC TV drama series' 35th annversary, it is running a competition to give a frontline medical professional the chance to write a shadow script for Casualty.
At least one winner will have access to a BBC script editor and input from the Casualty team to write a paid shadow script.
The scheme is aimed at finding and developing writers with medical experience who are interested in writing for the series. All applicants must be either working as frontline medical professionals or have retired from a medical professional role.
To submit, writers must work to the given brief and send the first and last scenes of an episode plus a 1,000-word breakdown of the episode including story progression, medical detail and character.
The closing date is 20 October 2021.
