For National Poetry Day, here are two war poetry competitions inviting entries from Theatre Cloud and Arts Award
• Theatre Cloud's Regeneration Project War Poetry for Today competition is linked to the national tour of the stage adaptation of Pat Barker's Regeneration and commemorates the centenary of the First World War. It invites submissions from war poets of today. The project lasts until the 29th November, when the tour ends. On each stop, the Regeneration cast shortlist their favourite poems from recent submissions. In the final week of the tour, the shortlisted poems will be reviewed and the poem judged to be most powerful will win £500. The runner up will win £250, and another prize of £250 will be awarded to the poem that's most popular with audiences online.
• The Arts Award Voice At War Poetry Competition is for war poems by young poets between 11 and 22. All submissions must be original and unpublished (although publication on a school website is OK). Each winner will receive a National Arts Pass, the opportunity for individual feedback and publication in a limited edition commemorative book. There are two age categories: 11-16 and 17-22. The closing date is 11 November.
