The TLS has announced the return of The TLS poetry competition, now named The Mick Imlah Poetry Prize
Mick Imlah was poetry editor of The TLS until his death in 2009. The last TLS poetry competition he oversaw was in 2008, when he said his hope for it was that 'a great poem will enter the lists'.
The first prize in The Mick Imlah Poetry Prize is £3,000. The second prize is £1,500 and the third prize is £750. Former Poet Laureate Andrew Motion is amongst the judges.
To enter, send poems no longer than 35 lines by the closing date of 13 October. The entry fee is £5 for the frst poem and £3 for any subsequent poems.
