There's a £1,000 prize for the best poem, judged by Clare Pollard

The Live Canon 2017 International Poetry Competition is for original, unpublished poems of any length on any subject.

In addition to the first prize of £1,000, there is a £100 prize for the highest placed entry by a poet living, working or studying in the London Borough of Greenwich. 50 longlisted poems will be published in an anthology, and the 20 shortlisted poems will be performed by the Live Canon ensemble at a prize giving event at Greenwich Theatre.

The 2016 Live Canon Anthology is available now.

The entry fees start at £6 for one poem.

The closing date to enter the Live Canon 2017 International Poetry Competition is 1 July.
