Munch Time Story Writing Competition invites stories for children

The first prize is £1,000 and publication both online and as a downloadable ebook

There is also a second prize of £500 and online publication.

Now in its fifth year, the popular competition is asking for entries of original, unpublished stories between 600 and 800 words long, suitable for children between two and five. The stories should begin 'Once upon a Munch Time, there was a cow called Munch…'.

Ten shortlisted stories will be published online for open voting from 1 July to 1 August.

The closing date is 31 May.
