Guccifer also managed to hack Candace Bushnell's Twitter account to post links to screengrabs of the pages on a Google Drive depositary and, on 7 May, a link that read: 'Here you can read my last book ''killing monica'' first 50 pages; enjoy as long as you can!'

Guccifer also showed screenshots of email correspondence between Bushnell, pictured, and her publisher.

The hacker known as Guccifer, who seems to be on a mission to embarrass the powerful and privileged, has previously hacked into personal accounts including the Facebook page of Colin Powell (where s/he posted anti-George Bush sentiments) and the email accounts of Hillary Clinton and friends and relatives of George Bush. Candance Bushnell is the first writer to be the unfortune recipient of Guccifer's attention.
