Entries are invited for the Walter Swan Trust Poetry Prize and the Short Story Competition
This year Ilkley Literature Festival is running creative writing contests for poetry and short stories.
• The Walter Swan Trust Poetry Prize is for poems on any subject up to 30 lines. There are prizes of £200, £100 and £75.
• The Short Story Competition is for short stories on any subject up to 3,000 words. There is a first prize of £200.
Winning authors, runners up and commended writers will be invited to read at Ilkley Literature Festival, which takes place between 30 September and 16 October.
The entry fee is £5 per poem or story.
The closing date is 29 July.
