Book your place at this year's Festival of Writing

c571d7a3-c48a-40ee-991b-d417d3ce8c7f

The Festival of Writing takes place annually in York and this year runs from Friday 8 September until Sunday 10 September. Now in its seventh year the festival has gained a reputation for helping unpublished authors on their writing careers, with successes including Joanna Cannon, Tor Udall, Deborah Install and Shelley Harris.

The Festival of Writing is one of the highlights of the publishing calendar, attracting hundreds of aspiring authors who congregate each year to meet agents and publishers, pitch their ideas, attend creative workshops and benefit from one-to-one tutorials with editors and industry experts, honing their craft and helping them on the path to publication. Be sure to say hello to Writing Magazine as we'll be there checking in on all the fun.

The Festival of Writing gave me the confidence and self-belief I needed. It was the first time I'd presented my writing to anyone, and being in such a supportive, friendly and enthusiastic environment is something I will remember forever.” – Joanna Cannon
