The 2014 Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award is open for entries
The Award, run by the Foundation of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, is designed to offer non-American novice writers under 30 the recognition and encouragement that might lead to a successful career in scriptwriting.
The winner will be flown to New York and presented with a prize of $2,500 at the International Emmy World Television Festival on 22 November.
The competition is for completed TV drama scripts between half-hour to one hour in length (commercial length). Scripts should be standalones or pilots, not part of a series.
Applicants should be non-US residents under the age of 30, and must not have had a script produced and/or aired on TV, or contributed any fiction words to any TV production.
Writers should submit, by email, a completed script, including a cover page listing title, author, address, telephone and email, as a pdf, doc or rtf file, plus a summary of the script between 100 and 250 words, a signed copy of the entry/release form (scanned in), and a one-page author biography.
The closing date is 1 July.
