Coffee-break exercise: Window shopping

13 August 2021
Use the theme to start a new piece of writing in this week's exercise

Take your imagination for a walk and conjure the thoughts going through someone's head as they gaze into shop windows.

Some ideas to think about might include: wandering; anxiety; affordability; consumerism; pleasure; leisure time; space to reflect; imagining other lives; visiting a place; reflecting images; daydreaming; wish fulfilment.

Write from any perspective, and in your preferred form, for 15 minutes.
