Explore getting ready for something in this week's creative writing exercise

How could you use the idea of someone preparing for something as the basis for a new piece of writing?

First, make notes about who the person is and what they are preparing for.

Then, make a list of what they need to prepare. Be as specific as possible. What do they need to do? Things they need to assemble? Are there any objects they need to pack or get ready? What mental attitude does the person need as they make their preparations?

Once you’ve done these two things, use the notes and the list as the basis for a new piece of writing, in any style or form, that gives a sense of someone preparing to carry out a particular mission or task.
