Explore the unknown to take your writing in a new direction in this week's exercise
To start, imagine you're walking in an unfamiliar place. You come to a crossroad. One path would lead you back in the direction you came. You aren't going to take that one.
For a few moments, jot down where the other roads might lead. Be as imaginative as you like. The road might lead to 'marsh' or 'swamp' or 'trouble' but equally, 'paradise', 'magic forest' or even 'heaven.'
Chose a path. Write what happens and what gets discovered when you, or a character of your invention, walk down it.
