Colin Bulman

Colin Bulman works part-time as a teacher of English language and literature and as a teacher of creative writing and journalism. He has also taught Media. For some years he has also been a freelance writer, contributing to a variety of newspapers and magazines including The Times, The Sunday Sun, Huddersfield Examiner, and Newcastle Evening Chronicle. He wrote the script for an advertising film, and has contributed to children’s publications in the fields of articles and stories and scripts for picture stories.

He is presently writing a series of short stories. He has specialised in writing for education publications. His last book was Fiction Writing: the Art and the Craft, subtitled: How Fiction is Written and How to Write It (Compass Books, 2015). In 2006 he published Creative Writing: A Glossary and Guide to Fiction Writing, (Polity Press, 2006). He reviews books for educational publications.

He practises hypnotherapy and is researching hypnotism, its practice and history. This may be the basis for a book.
