Historical Fiction Competition

23:59 - 15 January 2020

Any era, any theme, but your story for this special one-off competition must fall under the general umbrella of historical fiction.

For the purposes of this competition, we’re defining historical fiction as anything over fifty years ago. You don’t have to explicitly state when the story takes place but your story’s atmosphere and setting will still need to capture and evoke the spirit of its era.

Your limit is the usual 1,500-1,700 words.

First prize is £200, plus publication in a future Writing Magazine special, with £50 and website publication for second.
