The next quarterly contest closes on 30 September
The Henshaw Short Story Competition from Henshaw Press runs four times a year and is for original, unpublished short fiction up to 2,000 words on any theme.
The first prize is £100, and there are runners-up prizes of £50 and £25.
There is a fee of £5 per entry. For an additional £5, writers can get a critique of their story.
In September 2015 Henshaw Press published an anthology of 32 past competition winners entitled Henshaw Treats.
The closing date to enter the Henshaw Short Story Competition is 30 September.
