The annual awards for under-represented writers are open for entries, offering £7,500 in cash and writer development prizes
The theme of this year's awards is 'chemistry'. Writers may enter poetry up to 200 words and short fiction up to 1,000 words.
The Creative Future Literary Awards are aimed at UK writers whose stories are under-represented in mainstream publishing. The 12 winners will receive a share of £7,500-worth of cash and writer development prizes, and their work will be included in an anthology. Half the prizes will be awarded for poetry and the other half for short fiction. The winners will be invited to take part in a showcase event as part of the London Literature Festival in October.
To be eligible to enter, writers must be under-represented, ie must find it difficult to access the literary world because of mental health issues, disability, health or social circumstance.
Writers may send one entry in each category. Entry is free.
The closing date is 18 June.
