Applications are invited for the 2017/2018 writer-in-residency at one of the UK's quirkiest, most fantastical houses
Talliston was once an ordinary three-bed, semi-detached, ex-council house in Essex. But starting in 1990, John Trevillian has transformed it into 'a wonderfland of inspirational locations', including the Hall of Mirrors, the Watchtower, the Haunted Bedroom and the Room of Dreams.
Talliston's writer-in-residence programme runs from October to October. It encourages writers to be motivated and inspired by Talliston's interior. The chosen writer in residence will have two residential weekends to stay and writer at the house, and their work will be featured on the website. The 2016/2017 writer in residence is Emma Vandore.
To apply to be writer in residence at Talliston House & Gardens, send a writing bio and an example of writing titled 'An Extraordinary Room' by 31 August.
