The Crime MA at City has been highly successful, with half of the 2014 graduates having secured publishing deals or agents.

The course is tutored by crime novelist Claire McGowan (pictured), the author of WM's recent series on crime writing. Claire will judge the competition with literary agent Laura Williams of Peters Fraser and Dunlop.

To submit for the Crime Writing bursary, send the first 3,000 words of your crime or thriller novel and a one-page synopsis.

The closing date is 9 May.
