The first in Wo'W, a series of lectures on the weird and wonderful, will be given by paranormal thriller writer F.G. Cottram
He will sign copies of his latest novel The Waiting Room, a spine-tingler whose characters include a retired rock star and a sceptical ghost-hunter.
The lecture will take place at the Mansion House in York at 7pm on 11 May.
Further Wo'W lectures will explore paranormal, supernatural, spiritual and magical experience, and will be given by speakers including writers, journalists, academics and film makers.
