WH Smith in mix up with The Queen's Knickers

A computer error meant that every WH Smith customer received a till receipt printed with the words 'The Queen's Knickers - £5.99' no matter what they'd bought.

The Queen's Knickers is a newly published comic children's book by Nicholas Allen about a Diamond Jubilee visit from the monarch to a children's school, and one pupil's speculation about what kind of smalls she might be wearing.

The error occurred last Thursday morning (3 May) and was rectified by lunchtime.
