Vatican threatens to sue over book of leaked documents

A statement from the Vatican described Gianluigi Nuzzi's His Holiness as 'criminal' and 'objectively defamatory.'

Published on Saturday, the Italian journalist's book reproduces leaked internal documents, including confidential correspondence betwen Pope Benedict XVl and his personal secretary.

The Vatican is already embroiled in the 'Vatileaks' scandal, which broke earlier this year when leaked memos alleging corruption and financial mismanagement within the Holy See were published.
