The award will support two Northern writers with £2,000 each to develop an idea for TV drama
Kudos, which recently produced BBC1's Gunpowder, is celebrating the launch of Kudos North by investing in two writers with strong Northern voices. They are inviting writers who have yet to have an original TV drama produced to apply. Two successful writers will each be awarded £2,000 to develop an idea potentially to be pitched to the BBC. They will also be paired up with top writing mentors from the area, including Danny Brocklehurst and Stephen Butchard.
Applicants shoud be full-time writers living in the North of England who have at least one produced credit (which could be for a theatre play, radio drama, commissioned online drama episode, film or credit on a continuing drama). They should be able to deliver work that delivers authentic Northern voices and relevant stories in an original way.
To apply, submit an original TV drama script at least 30 pages long, and a brief biography, by 20 November.
