The race is on to see which books will be the Christmas bestsellers for 2012

Today sees the publication of new titles by Jamie Oliver and JK Rowling - bang in the middle of the three-week period when the books likely to be Christmas bestsellers are launched

Bookshops are backing Jamie to be the Christmas number one, with Jamie's 15 Minute Meals, published today.

Other big titles launched in time for a Christmas read are:

• Dodger, by Terry Pratchett

• Nigellisima, by Nigella Lawson

• One Shot, by Lee Child

• The Mystery of Mercy Close, by Marian Keyes
