The biennial prize for debut fiction writers was first run in 2011, and won by Gabriel Gbadamosi (pictured) for Vauxhall, which will be published by Telegram Books this spring. The runner-up, Nathan Filer's The Shock of the Fall, is being published this year by Harper Fiction.

Entrants should have completed, or nearly completed, an unpublished novel, and should not be represented by an agent. Tibor Jones is looking for fiction that is original, distinctive, and above all, page-turning.

All submissions should be emailed to [email protected] by the closing date of 18 February.
