The prize in The Times/Chicken House Children's Novel Competition 2012 for unpublished children's novelists is a worldwide publishing contract and an advance worth £10,000
The Times/Chicken House Children's Novel Competition 2012 is for a full-length novel of no more than 80,000 words that shoudl be suitable for a worldwide children's audience aged between nine and 16. Each entry shoudl be accompanied by a synopsis, plot plan, and a letter of submission explaining the novel's appeal to children.
The closing date is 28 October. There is an entry fee of £15, which should be paid by cheque.
Only postal entries will be accepted.
