Macmillan Children's Books is teaming up with online writing community Movella in a competition for young poets aged between 13 and 18
25 Stanza & Deliver winners will have their work published by Macmillan Children's Books in an ebook anthology in 2014.
Macmillan Children's Books non-fiction and poetry director Gaby Morgan said: 'I am delighted to be working with Movellas as they provide a place for young people to post and share their writing and comment on and support other writers. It is a brilliant place to try out new ideas and I wish there had been something like Movellas when I was writing poetry as a teenager.
'Poetry is a great way of expressing feelings or celebrating an event. There are poems to suit every mood and they are a great way of telling other people how you feel. Poems are all around us every day from pop songs to advertising jingles to silly rhymes and they give rhythm to life. Some poetry is more obscure and takes effort to decipher but it is a very special form of writing.'
To enter the competition, poets are asked to upload their poems, and possibly a video of themselves performing it, to Movellas.
The competition closes on 28 February.
