BBC Radio 1Xtra, Asian Network and BBC Contains Strong Language are working with literature development agencies to find the UK's best emerging spoken word talent
Spoken word artists selected for the Words First talent development scheme will be offered the chance to take part in regional workshops in May where they will work with established artists to develop their work. There will be a performance showcase in Manchester and the finale of the Words First scheme will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Selected artists from the scheme will be offered mentoring and support.
To take part, upload a short performance video by the closing date of 10 May.
