The Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) has created a test for people who want to see if they have the skills required for the job.

The test contains many of the common errors found by professional proofreaders.

Test your aptitude for accuracy and your eagle-eyed ability to spot an error by taking the test at www.sfep.org.uk/pub/train/self_test/index.asp. Having taken the test, Writing Magazine's editorial team will be brushing up on their proofing skills (although we were somewhat confused by the structure of the test, honest guv).

Let us know on Talkback how you get on.
