First prize is £30,000 in the Sunday Times/EFG Short Story Award ...
Thought to be the world's most lucrative prize for a single work of unpublished short fiction, the Sunday Times/EFG Short Story Award offers £30,000 for first place.

Five runners-up will receive a still-not-to-be-sniffed-at £1,000 each. Although the prize is for unpublished fiction, there is a slight catch: the author must have had work previously published by an established magazine or publisher. If that includes you, the guidelines are:
• 6,000 word limit
• Free entry
• Closing date, 24 September

See the website for full details and entry form.
