For its first open creative writing contest, Cheltenham Writers' Circle has chosen a theme to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death

 

For its first open creative writing contest, Cheltenham Writers' Circle has chosen a theme to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death

Stories up to 2,000 words are invited on the theme of 'What You Will'.

There is a first prize of £100, and a prize of £50 for the best entry from a writer with a GL postcode. The runner-up in each category will receive a £15 book token courtesy of the Suffolk Anthology bookshop in Cheltenham.

All entries for The Cheltenham Prize must be original and unpublished.

There is an entry fee of £2 per story. Writers may enter up to three stories.

The closing date is 4 June.
