The new creative writing competition is managed by small press Dahlia Publishing
The competition is for new and original fiction up to 3,000 words. Stories may be in any style and on any subject. There is a first prize of £100 and a bundle of books. The second prize winner gets £50 and a bundle of books, and the third prize winner gets a bundle of books. Up to  20 winning and longlisted stories will be published in an anthology.
All entries must be original and unpublished. The competition is open to any writer, published or unpublished.
Writers may submit up to three entries. The entry fee is £7 per story, or £3 for writers with a Leicestershire postcode.
The closing date to enter the Leicester Writes Short Story Prize 2017 is 3 April.
