Brighton Festival, Lulu.com and nabokov have joined forces for a writing competion based on the festival theme

Launching tomorrow, the competition is for short stories up to 4,000 words, by writers resident in Sussex, on the theme of Everyday Epic. Four winning stories will be published in an anthology alongside stories by the Storytelling Army, whose world premiere at Brighton Festival is being sponsored by Lulu.com.

Storytelling Army is a collective of people from all works of life who have been working with nabokov theatre company and festival director Kate Tempest, and will be appearing in pop-up performances throughout Brighton from 26 to 28 May. Brighton Festival is on from 6-28 May.

Entry to the short story competition is free. Writers may send one story only.
