The winning story will be published on Halloween and its writer will receive $1,000
Submissions may be any type of short story with a paranormal or supernatural theme, including ghost stories. Stories may be any length between 1,500 and 10,000 words.
The Ghost Story (TGS) runs its supernatural fiction competition twice a year, with the winning stories being published on Midsummer's Eve and 31 October. An honourable mention in each competition will also be published and will receive $100.
There is an entry fee of $20.
The closing date is 30 September.
