Check out these two great opportunities for new theatre writing
• The 2016 Adrian Pagan Award from The King's Head Theatre is for plays that capture the zeitgeist in any exciting and thought-provoking way. New writing, revivals and musicals are all equally welcomed. The winning creative team will receive a full production budget to produce their show at The King's Head Theatre in Upper Street, London. The closing date to submit is 31 July.
• Faith Drama Productions' Theatre Madness Challenge is aimed at emerging writer-directors and offers a first prize of a £2,000 commission to write and direct a full-length play for the 2017/2018 season. The challenge is to write a first draft of a short (10-min max) play in a week in response to a word prompt. To enter, submit a CV and up to 20 pages of a stage or radio play and (if possible) a link to work you have directed by the closing date of 27 July.
