Eleven unpublished writers will receive mentoring and financial support
Writers interested in applying for the awards must be Scotland-based, have a stong commitment to a writing career, and must not have published a novel or short story or poetry collection.
This year's awards are divided into four categories: fiction, Scots, poetry and children's. Winners get £2,000 and a support package that includes mentoring, a week-long writing retreat and opportunities to meet industry professionals.

The awards are run in conjunction with Creative Scotland and Scottish Poetry Library.
The deadline for applications is 10 September.
