PublishAmerica's claim to present their authors' writing to J K Rowling - for a fee - has been discredited by the Harry Potter author's spokesman Mark Hutchinson
The US publishing company posted a page on its website where authors could pay a $49 fee to have their books presented to J K Rowling. 'We will bring your book to the attention of Harry Potter's author next week while our delegation is in her hometown, and ask her to read it and tell us and you what she thinks,' read the sales blurb. PublishAmerica authors were asked to write a note for Rowling in the Ordering Instructions box. This page has since been taken down but may be viewed under Google cache.
Mark Hutchinson said on Tuesday that the claim was 'completely false.'
