Offering DRM-free downloads, Pottermore and JK Rowling have also created the phenomenon of forcing Amazon to send customers to the site to buy the ebooks. Digital publishing industry expert Matteo Berlucchi described this as: 'Pottermore transformed Amazon from a fierce ebook retailer into a tame ebook shop window.'
In the first two weeks of launching, Pottermore saw 22m visits from 7m unique users.
