Now in its sixth year, the prize fund is bigger and the 2018 judge is award-winning poet Andrew McMillan
The competition is for original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines. The first prize is £600, with runner-up prizes of £150 and £75 and a £50 Helen Cadbury Prize, named for the York author who died last year, for the best poem from an entrant with a York postcode.
The entry fee is £6 for one poem, £15 for up to three, £17.50 for four and £20 for five.
The closing date is 25 February.
