The contest from Wolverhampton Literature Festival is now in its fourth year

The theme of Wolverhampton Literature Festival in 2022 is 'Sounds of the city' and entries are invited on this theme. The WoLF Poetry Competition invites entries of original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines.

The first prize is £400, the second is £150 and there are three third prizes of £50. There is also a special category for poems by poets with a WV postcode, with a winner's prize of £75 and two runners up prizes of £25. This year's judge is Birmingham Poet Laureate 2020-2022 Casey Bailey (pictured).

The entry fee is £4 per poem, or £10 for three and £3 for each subsequent poem.

The closing date is 31 December.
