The contest is in honour of poet and Quaker Geoffrey Weeden, who died last year aged 90

The theme of the competition, which is 'Draw Breath', comes from Geoffrey Weeden's poem of that title.

Writers may enter up to three original, unpublished poems on the theme, with a combined total of not more than 150 lines.

There are three age categories: 9-12 (prizes £50, £20 and £10); 13-18 (prizes £00, £50 and £20), and 19 years and upward (prizes £200, £100 and £50).

The entry fee in the age 19 and over category is £5.

The closing date is 18 December.
