Munster Literature Centre invites entries from writers worldwide for its contest in memory of the Irish poet

The competition, which is for original, unpublished poems, has a first prize of €1,000, publication in Southword Literary Journal and a week-long residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. The Munster Literature Centre will assist with travel costs for the winner up to €600 and provide hotel accommodation and meals for four days during the Cork International Poetry Festival.

There are second and third prizes of €500 and €250 plus publication in Southword. Ten runners up will have their poems published in Southword and receive the standard fee of €30.

The entry fee is €5 per poem or €20 per batch of five.

Submit original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines to The Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Competition by the closing date of 30 November.
