Live Canon will perform the top seven poems chosen by the public
The first half of the event on 3 December will feature Live Canon director Helen Eastman in conversation with Blake Morrison about his seven favourite poems. The second half will be live readings of the top seven 'desert island' poems chosen by the public, and poetry performing ensemble Live Canon is inviting people to send their list of seven favourite poems by 16 November.
• Live Canon is running a one-day course in London on Reading and Performing Your Own Poetry on 15 November and 10 January. Aimed at poets and writers, each course includes voice techniques and breath, microphone technique, combating nerves, adapting to venues, and memorising versus reading. Poets have a chance to practice reading aloud and get feedback from other course participants. Numbers are restricted.
The course costs £120.
There may be a last-minute place on the November course, and places are available in January.
