There's still time to get in entries for the big-prize competition that closes at the end of this month
The National Poetry Competition, which is for original, unpublished single poems, has a first prize of £5,000, a second prize of £2,000 and a third prize of £1,000. Seven further commended poems each win £200. The top three winners will be published in the Poetry Society's journal, Poetry Review.
Poems may be on any subject, and any length up to 40 lines.
There is an entry fee of £6.50 for the first poem and £3.50 for subsequent entries. Poetry Society members get a free second entry.
The closing date is 31 October.
