There is a first prize of £1,000 in the competition judged by Andrew McMillan

The Winchester Poetry Prize is an international competition inviting entries of original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines.

The first prize is £1,000 and there are second and third prizes of £500 and £250. Winning and commended poets will be published in an anthology. Longlisted poets will be invited to a prizegiving event on 10 October as part of the Winchester Poetry Festival.

The judge is award-winning poet Andrew McMillan.

The entry fee is £5 for the first poem and £4 for subsequent poems.

The closing date is 31 July 2020.
