Poetry competition: The Winchester Poetry Prize 2021

Win a £1,000 first prize in the contest from Winchester Poetry Festival

The competition, which will be judged by Jacqueline Saphra, is for original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines.

There is a first prize of £1,000. The second prize is £500 and the third prize, £250. There is also a special prize for the best entry written by a Hampshire-based poet.

A prize giving event will take place as part of the Winchester Poetry Festival on 9 October, either live in Winchester or online, depending on whether restrictions are still in place.

The entry fee is £5 for the first poem and £4 for any subsequent poems.

The closing date is 31 July.
