Win a €1,000 first prize in the competition for poems for children

The international Caterpillar Poetry Prize is an annual contest from The Caterpillar poetry and art magazine for children. It's given for an unpublished poem aimed at children between 7 and 11.

The first prize is €1,000 and a week at Circle of Misse in France. The second prize is €500 and the third prize is €250. The winners will be published in the Irish Times online. This year's judge is Joseph Coelho.

Entrants must be aged 16+. Enter original, unpublished poems on any subject, of any length.

The entry fee is €15 per poem.

The closing date is 31 March.
