Enter poems on the theme of resilience in the biennial literary festival's contest

The Freedom From Torture charity's biennial literary festival will be online this year, and its first-ever poetry contest invites  poems on the theme of 'resilience'.

Funds raised from the competition will support group arts projects for survivors, including the Write to Life creative writing group, which is the UK's longest-running creative writing group for refugees, and the only one specifically for survivors of torture.

The winners' poems will be broadcast as part of the festival on 25 November and featured on Freedom from Torture's website. The judging panel is chaired by Daljit Nagra and includes Ian McMillan, Imtiaz Dharker and Inua Ellams.

There is a suggested donation of £5 per poem. Writers with lived experience as a refugee or asylum seeker can enter for free.

The closing date is 31 October.
