Entries are invited for the annual contest from Buzzwords poetry reading and open mic night in Cheltenham
There is a first prize of £600, a runner-up prize of £300 and five commended poets will each get £50. A special Gloucestershire Prize of £200 will be given to the best entry by a Gloucestershire resident.
The competition will be judged by poet Jonathan Davidson (pictured).
Entries may be up to 70 lines, and must be original and previously unpublished.
There is a fee of £4 per poem (£4.35 for online entries). Proceeds from the 2014 Buzzwords Poetry Competition will go to funding the Buzzwords poetry nights, which have been described by George Szirtes as 'warm, intelligent... a very talented group, Buzzwords was a great venue for reading and listening.'
The closing date is 17 August.
